Michael Bierut on Internet Logo Uproar
It's become pretty typical for the internet to lose it's collective hive-mind criticizing redesigned logos. I try to do my fair share to mitigate these flurries of vitriol by providing more measured responses drawing on my own experience as a designer, but there are definitely limits to the efficacy of engaging with that kind of conversation.
But if that kind of thing interests you, I strongly recommend you listen to this. 99 Percent Invisible is an excellent and fascinating podcast generally, but this most recent episode is of particular experiential relevance to me and those of my ilk.
